Ai Motohashi

Ai Motohashi - Sideri was born in Tokyo (1979). She started piano lessons with her mother and in 1995 she was accepted at the Detmolt Music Academy at the class of Prof. Arnulf von Arnim. She graguated From the Essen Music Academy.

She has participated in many master classes with K. Hellwig, O. Gardon, J. Revier, P. Gililov, A. Jasinski, K. Ganev, S. Perticaroli and at the Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie.

She is the 1st prize winner of the PTNA in Tokyo (1993), of Pinerolo piano competition in Italy (1997) and she has been awarded with several other prices at the Japan Classic Music Competition (1995) and at the Ettlingen piano competition.

In 2003 she was honored from the Dortmund Soroptimist Club received theand the "Richard Wagner schollarship".

She has many appearances as soloist and as a chamber music player with several orchestras and artists in the USA ,Germany, Austria, France, Italy and Greece, collaborating with artists and ensembles such as David Geringas, the Neue Westfällische Philharmonie, the Tokyo Chamber Orchestra and the Weimar Symphony Orchestra.

She is the principal pianist of the Ergon Ensemble.
