LARS BJORNKJAER
Lars Bjørnkjaer born in 1968 in Los Angeles, received his first lessons at age 6 From Tove Detreköy. He was accepted at the Jutland Music Conservatory at the age of 13 and studied with professor Henrik Sachsenskjold. Future teachers include Viktor Liberman, Holland and Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School of music in New York.
Lars Bjørnkjaer was appointed Concertmaster of the Royal Danish Orchestra in 1993. As a soloist Bjørnkjaer has performed a large number of violin concertos with most Orchestras in Denmark and with orchestras abroad. Tours with chamber music all over the world. In 2000 Bjørnkjaer had his debut as a conductor with The Royal Danish Chamber Orchestra . Bjørnkjaer was knighted by Queen Margrethe in 1998 and plays on the 1714 Stradivarius "Moldenhauer".
