Murat Özülgen
He started to study oboe at Izmir State Conservatory in 1980. Won the first prize at 7th National Competition in Istanbul in 1987. He grduate from oboe class of Macit Kizilay in 1989. In the same year he became a member of Izmir State Symphony Orchestra. He gaved oboe and chamber music lessons at Izmir State Conservatory between 1996-2005. Murat Özülgen is still principal solo oboist of Izmir State Symphony Orchestra and member of Izmir Woodwind Quintet.
His recent cd, featuring late romantic violinconcertos by Johan Svendsen and P.E. Lange-Müller, received praise
in The Strad Magazine for "Bjørnkjær's glorious singing tone" and "highly eloquent phrasing". "This violinist devoted
vehemence almost convinces us that it is a lost masterpiece" ( Svendsen)
Lars Bjørnkjær plays the 1714 Stradivarius "Yoldi-Moldenhauer". He was knighted by Queen Margrit in 1998.
