Murat Özülgen, oboe (Turkey)
Murat studied oboe at Izmir State Conservatory. He won first prize at 7th National Competition in Istanbul in 1987. He graduated from oboe class of Macit Kizilay in 1989. In the same year, he joined Izmir State Symphony Orchestra. He taught oboe and chamber music at Izmir State Conservatory between 1996-2005. Murat Özülgen is principal solo oboist with Izmir State Symphony Orchestra.
Ars longa, vita brevis
In August 2014 the ICMFC celebrated its 10th anniversary and the 150 years from the inauguration of Apollo Theatre of Hermoupolis, with a saying by Hippocrates of Cos (460 – c. 370 BC), an ancient Greekphysician of the Age of Pericles (Classical Greece), "Ars longa, vita brevis", an expression that perfectly describes what has been achieved in the festival's first decade.
