Yannos Margaziotis

Yannos Margaziotis, violin (Greece)

Yannos Margaziotis, violinist and artistic director of the International Classical Music Festival of Cyclades, studied in Greece and in the Netherlands with a scholarship of the "Onassis Foundation" with Victor Lieberman, Valentin Zuhk and Lex Korf de Gidts. He received a Master's Degree in chamber music from the Royal Academy of Hague, in Vladimir Mendelssohn's class.

He has performed as a soloist with symphonic and chamber music orchestras, such as the Athens State Orchestra, the Royal Danish Orchestra, the Orchestra of Contemporary Music of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, the Swedish Musica Vitae chamber orchestra, the Daejeon Chamber Orchestra in Korea, the chamber music orchestra of the Greek National Opera, while as founding member of the Artis piano trio with Nikolas Kavakos and Annie Totsiou, he has performed in concert halls and festivals such as the Athens Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall (Weil Recital Hall), Schoenberg Saal, the Hellenic National Gallery, the Athens-Epidaurus festival, the Annenberg Festival, the Nafplion Festival, the Patras Musical May and the International Classical Music Festival of Cyclades.

As a chamber musician, Yannos Margaziotis has collaborated with artists such as Mihaela Martin, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Frans Helmerson, Radovan Vlatkovic, Marko Ylönen, Dimitris Sgouros, Harold Schlichtig, Yuval Gotlibovich, Janis Vakarelis, Lars Bjornkjaer, Leo Winland, Michel Lethiec, Fabio Di Casola, Katrine Gislinge, the "Storioni trio", and has appeared at international classical music festivals such as the Storioni Festival in the Netherlands, the I Virtuosi and the Rio Chamber Music Week in Brazil, the Izmir chamber music series, the Borusan Istanbul chamber music series in Turkey, the Nafplion Festival, the Around the piano festival, the Piraeus Sinfonia Festival in Greece, among many others.

He is one of the founding members and artistic director of the International Classical Music Festival of Cyclades, established in 2005 in Hermoupolis on Syros island.

He teaches violin and chamber music at the Athens Conservatory. Since 1994 he holds the position of 2.concertmaster with the Greek National Opera Orchestra and he is guest concertmaster with the Daejeon's Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and the Swedish Musica Vitae Orchestra.
