Yannos Margaziotis

Yannos Margaziotis was born in Athens in 1967 to a musical family. He got his first music lessons from his grandfather, Ioannis D. Margaziotis. He continued studying the violin next to Mihalis Semsis, and under a scholarship from the Onasis Foundation he completed his studies at the Musical Academy of Utrecht (the Netherlands) with Victor Lieberman, Valentin Zuhk and Lex Korf de Gidts. He received a Master's Degree in chamber music from the Royal Academy of Hague, in Vladimir Mendelssohn's class.

As a member of the European Youth Orchestra he has toured most european capitals, performing in venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Berlin Philarmonic, and the Salle-Pleyelle in Paris,under the conduction of such great musicians as Claudio Abaddo,Bernard Haitink,Vladimir Askenazy, and Zubin Mehta.

In his musical career – in addition to his performances as a soloist with symphonic and chamber music orchestras, such as the Athens State Orchestra, the Royal Danish Orchestra, the Orchestra of Contemporary Music of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, the chamber music orchestra of the Greek National Opera – a significant part has been the creation of the Artis piano trio with Nikolas Kavakos and Annie Totsiou. With this ensemble he has performed in important concert halls and festivals such as the Athens Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall, Schoenberg zaal, the National Gallery, the Anneberg Festival, the Athens-Epidaurus Festival, the Nafplion Festival, the Patras Musical May, and the Festival of Cyclades.

His interest in chamber music and his appearances in various events in Greece and abroad have given him the opportunity to collaborate with artists of such calibre as Mihaela Martin, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Frans Helmerson, Dimitris Sgouros, Yorgos Demertzis, Fabio Di Casola, Kostas Kotsiolis, Lars Bjornkjaer, Leo Winland, Vassilis Papavassiliou, and Vladimir Mendelssohn.

He is one of the founding members and artistic director of the International Classical Music Festival of Cyclades, which has been taking place since 2005 in Ermoupolis, Syros.

He teaches Chamber Music at the Athens Conservatory. Since 1994 he holds the position of second concertmaster at the Greek National Opera orchestra.

Γιάννος Μαργαζιώτης

Ο Γιάννος Μαργαζιώτης γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα το 1967 σε μία μουσική οικογένεια.Πήρε τα πρώτα μαθήματα μουσικής απο τον παππού του Ιωάννη Δ.Μαργαζιώτη.Στη συνέχεια μελέτησε βιολί δίπλα στον Μιχάλη Σέμση και ως υπότροφος του Ιδρύματος Ωνάση τελειοποίησε τις σπουδές του στην Mουσική Ακαδημία της Ουτρέχτης (Ολλανδία) με τους,Victor Lieberman,Valentin Zuhk και Lex Korf de Gidts.Έχει μεταπτυχιακό στη μουσική δωματίου απο την Βασιλική Ακαδημία της Χάγης,σπoυδάζοντας στην τάξη του Vladimir Mendelssohn.

Ως μέλος της Ευρωπαϊκής Ορχήστρας Νέων περιόδευσε στις περισσότερες ευρωπαικές πρωτεύουσες,δίνοντας συναυλίες σε αίθουσες όπως η Κοντσέρτχεμπάου του Άμστερνταμ,η Φιλαρμονική του Βερολίνου,η Μουσίκφεράιν της Βιέννης,η Σαλ-Πλεγιέλ του Παρισιού,υπό την διεύθυνση αρχιμουσικών όπως οι,Claudio Abaddo,Bernard Haitink,Vladimir Askenazy και Zubin Mehta.

Στην σταδιοδρομία του,εκτός των εμφανίσεων του ως σολίστ με συμφωνικές ορχήστρες (Κρατική Ορχήστρα Αθηνών,Βασιλική Ορχήστρα της Δανίας,Ορχήστρα Σύγχρονης Μουσικής της ΕΡΤ,Ορχήστρα δωματίου της Λυρικής κα),αναπόσπαστο κομμάτι αποτελεί η ίδρυση μαζί με τους Νικόλα Καβάκο και Άννη Τότσιου,του Artis piano trio.Σύνολο με το οποίο έχει δώσει συναυλίες σε αίθουσες και φεστιβάλ όπως,του Μεγάρου Μουσικής Αθηνών,Carnegie Hall( ΝΥ),Eθνικής Πινακοθήκης,του Ιδρύματος Θεοχαράκη,στο Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών-Επιδαύρου,στο Anneberg festival(DK),στο φεστιβάλ Ναυπλίου,στο φεστιβάλ Κυκλάδων κ.α.

Το ενδιαφέρον του και η αγάπη του για την μουσική δωματίου και οι εμφανίσεις του σε ποικίλες καλλιτεχνικές συναντήσεις στην Ελλάδα και στο εξωτερικό,τον έχουν φέρει σε συνεργασία με κορυφαίους μουσικούς όπως οι Mihaela Martin, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Frans Helmerson, Fabio Di Casola, Γιάννη Βακαρέλη, Michel Lethiec, Katrine Gislinge, Δημήτρη Σγούρο, Γιώργο Δεμερτζή, Κώστα Κοτσιώλη, Lars Bjornkjaer και Leo Winland.

Είναι απο τα ιδρυτικά στελέχη και καλλιτεχνικός διευθυντής του Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Κλασσικής Μουσικής Κυκλάδων,που πραγματοποιείται απο το 2005 στην Ερμούπολη της Σύρου.

Διδάσκει το μάθημα της μουσικής δωματίου στο Ωδείο Αθηνών.
Απο το 1994 κατέχει τη θέση του Α' κορυφαίου στην ορχήστρα της Εθνικής Λυρικής Σκηνής.
