Yorgos Kandilidis

Yorgos Kandilidis received his first violin lessons in Kazakhstan, studied at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki (diploma cum laude, class Dani Dosiou), the Academy of Almaty, Kazakhstan (class Aiman Mousahotzaeva, Moscow Tchaikovsky Academy professor), receiving his postgraduate degree from the Music Academy of Trossingen, Germany (class Christian Ostertag). Selected through competition in 1994, he toured several Greek cities as a soloist with the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki Orchestra and also represented Greece at the International Festival of Novi Sad, Serbia. He was concertmaster of the Municipal Symphonic Orchestra of Thessaloniki and the Hellenic Camerata and has appeared as a soloist with the Municipal and the State Orchestra of Thessaloniki and the Sofia Academic Symphonic Orchestra. He has recorded for several Greek television stations. He is a member of the State Orchestra of Thessaloniki, violin professor at the “Music College” of Thessaloniki and member of the string quartet “Emilios Riadis”.
