Despina Apostolou
Despina Apostolou lives in Frankfurt, Germany, where she teaches and performs chamber and modern music and develops her interest in music theater. She studied at the New Conservatory in Thessaloniki and at the State Music Academy Pancho Valdigerov in Sofia, Bulgaria, with Prof. Stella Dimitrova (piano), Prof. Venzeslav Nikolov (chamber music) and Prof. Iliana Batembergska (piano accompaniment). Further studies brought her to Germany and the piano class of Catherine Vickers and Bernhard Wetz at the State Music Academy in Frankfurt. She performed as soloist with the Academic Symphony Orchestra of Sofia and participated regularly at international music festivals, such as: Juventus Festival in Cambrais/France, International Chamber Music Days in Niedersachsen/Germany, Edessa Spring Festival/ Greece, International Flute Meetings/Greece, Pianissimo Festival for Modern Piano/ Bulgaria, Paxos Summer Festival/Greece). She has also given concerts in Greece, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Ireland. Despina was honoured with a scholarship from the Rotary Club Frankfurt and has also been a scholar of the Ensemble Modern Frankfurt and the International Academy for Chamber Music in Niedersachsen.
